Pesky PillYour medication sidekick
A LITTLE HELP GOES A LONG WAY

Let’s clear things up.

Start here for questions about the app, your organizer, and the beta.

What does Pesky Pill do?

Pesky Pill reminds you at each dose time and records a check-in when you scan the QR code at your pill organizer. Today shows which of today’s doses are taken, and History shows when each was scanned.

Do I need a special pill organizer?

No. The iOS app can generate personalized QR codes to print and place under the matching lids of your own weekly organizer. Buying our hardware isn’t required. Our seven-day 3D-printed organizer isn’t available to order yet, but its print files are a free download, so you can print your own on a 3D printer that prints two colors. See the organizer and get the print files.

Does scanning prove I took my medicine?

No. A scan records that the matching QR code was scanned. It cannot verify ingestion or prevent every missed or duplicate dose. Follow your clinician’s and pharmacist’s instructions.

Will Pesky Pill call me?

Only if you choose to enable them, give consent, and verify your phone number. Then, once a dose is 10 minutes late, Pesky calls every 10 minutes, at any hour, until you scan it, or until your next dose time or midnight. There are no quiet hours. You can always turn calls off, and anyone who manages you in Pesky Pill is told when you do. To hold all reminders, calls and notifications, ask in the app: someone who manages you has to approve, for up to 7 days. Calls only ask you to scan your organizer; they never mention medication. Delivery can be delayed or fail.

Do notifications name my medications?

Not by default. Private reminders ask you to open Pesky Pill without naming medications. If you want medication names in reminders, choose Detailed in Settings (Notification privacy). Notifications may appear on your lock screen, and family alerts name the person who needs attention.

How do I pair a printed Pesky Pill organizer?

In Settings → Printed organizers, tap Add organizer. Choose who it's for and which dose it holds, then scan any code on it. Pairing doesn't record a dose. For a morning and evening organizer, add each row separately. You can reassign or unpair it in the same place. The printed organizer is coming soon and is not available to order yet.

How do I contact support or delete my data?

Email support@dytym.com for help. To delete your account, open the app’s Settings and choose Delete my account (under Help and privacy), or email us from your account’s email address. Please don’t send medication details. See our privacy policy for what is collected and how deletion works.

Can I use it on Android?

Yes, in the closed beta. The native Android app is being tested alongside iPhone, by invitation, through Google Play testing. There’s no public Google Play release or committed date yet.

How can I join the beta?

The closed beta has started. It’s invitation-only, with small groups first. Leave your email on the beta page to hear about the beta and when it opens more widely. Signing up doesn’t guarantee an invitation.

Something isn’t working?

Reminders aren’t showing up
Check that notifications are allowed for Pesky Pill in your phone’s Settings, and that a Focus or Do Not Disturb mode isn’t holding them. Then, in Pesky Pill, go to Settings and tap Send a test notification.
The scanner won’t read a code
Allow camera access (the scanner shows an Open Settings button if it’s off). Use good light, hold steady, and scan the code in the compartment for the day you’re taking.
Not sure a scan counted
Today shows Taken for each recorded dose, and History shows when it was scanned. If it isn’t there, it wasn’t recorded, so keep to your usual routine.
No reminder call came
Calls need a verified phone number and calls turned on in Settings. The first comes 10 minutes after the dose time, and none come while reminders are on hold, or about a dose once your next dose time or midnight has passed.
